hey all so i just wanted to point out since i havent made any major changes to any of the bp and when i tried migrateing my levels to the new v2 of classic horror my engine kept crashing so i made a copy and just migrated from the new project straight into the old ones and from what i can see apart from the new water surface and the meshes, animations and cutscenes everything is working well i will have to re add the water surface since i had a compile error but its just gonna be a matter of making the references to the correct cutscenes again in the bp and adding my meshes again its a bit of work but i was expecting it to totally break but works so far and my map is at least still working.............so if u havent made major changes to the bps anyone who like me has rather spent alot of time on level design just migrate the new overwrite the old and you good to go just remember u gonna have to fix a few things so dont panic it worked for me maybe im just lucky

(just migrate the entire classic horror framework folder and overwrite the old one)

regards chris

@chris Hey Chris, thanks for sharing your experience and for taking the time to test this out. I’m glad to hear that it’s working for you so far!

That said, I wouldn’t recommend this approach as the general migration method, especially for projects with significant modifications. There can be some hidden dependencies or changes that may not cause any issues immediately, but could potentially show up later, especially during packaging. So I’d still recommend the safer approach of starting with a fresh V2 project and transferring your previous work over step by step.

But it’s definitely good to know that this approach worked for you, and hopefully it continues to work without any issues😊

Thanks again for sharing!

@hosna Hi there yes i hope i dont have any issues later on but the reason i tried this was since i tried to migrate my levels over and it kept crashing and since i really havent made any changes beside meshes and some animations i figured it would be safe enough i will have t re add everything i did but my maps are intact so far and i would not want to continue if i lost these levels spent many weeks on them but it so far seems like it is working and down the line if it really doesnt work i will have to migrate my levels over i will have to figure it out along the way

regards

chris
