I switched to FPS mode, the character is at the same height as in UE, in the same spot, but when I crouch, you can see his head. Is there something I need to do to fix this? Something I don't know?

Is your character using the UE4 skeleton exactly? if so, Have you made any changes to the code? In first-person mode, the main mesh of the class should not be visible and the leg mesh should be visible, but everything from the spine up should be hidden. Please check this part, it should be set up this way.

I used the new tutorial for changing characters, using the child character, I think another tutorial is needed for FPS.
I tried to do it in BP_Character but without success.
Having both things in the same BP makes it difficult to understand where each thing goes.

@makiru If your character is using the UE4 skeleton, it’s pretty straightforward, just assign the framework rig to the model and swap the meshes in BP_Character. The tutorials are for third-person, but for first-person you’ll also need to replace the leg and hand meshes. Take a look at this short video where I demonstrate swapping meshes for first-person view. I’m not replacing the hand mesh here (since I don’t have a unique one), but you’ll need to do that on your end.

I've done the same with the arms, but it doesn't work well, look at the pictures.

Also, when you pass through the two walls and press the right mouse button, the character turns.

@makiru Hey, feel free to send your character model to our email(Farshad.christ@gmail.com), and we’ll take a closer look to see what might be causing the issue for you.

It's the same character you used in the video you sent me.

The problem is that these characters, and the paid ones with the UE4 skeleton, look outdated; they don't look like the UE5 ones.
This was to test some things, but the retargeting for the UE5 skeletons isn't working, or I don't know how to do it.

My question is, are you going to make a BP_character template for UE5 skeleton? Because this is much easier for using Metahumans, has better character quality, and is also better for creating cinematics.
It's frustrating to spend days on this and not get anywhere. Honestly, I didn't expect to find that you're using UE4 skeleton in the template; I wouldn't have bought it, frankly. I want to use FPS and third-person gameplay with UE5 skeleton, and I can't.

@makiru I completely understand how frustrating it can be when you’re trying to add your character. First, let me mention that we have recently released some tutorials, and more tutorials are on the way.

Also, we are currently in the early stages, but we are exploring adding a UE5 skeleton Character BP in future updates. If confirmed, we will announce it in the roadmap page. I checked the model you mentioned and created a 4-minute video showing exactly how you can correctly import your UE4 character with the hand mesh for first-person gameplay. Please watch it here

I believe you did everything correctly, but the only thing needed was to close and reopen the project at the end, which resolves the hand mesh issue.

Please take a look at this video, and if you still have any questions or issues, let me know. I can upload my project for you with your character fully and correctly integrated.

Thank you for taking the time to address this issue. Since you mentioned that there will be a Battle Pass for UE5 skeleton in the future, but it's not certain, please, if you could make a tutorial on how to add the metahuman character, especially for FPS games, it's extremely important to me because of the retargeting feature.

Thank you for your help.

I'm sending a video so you can see a bug when crossing between two walls.

You are welcome! Yes, this is something we have in mind and plan to cover in one of the upcoming parts of the framework tutorial series.

Thanks for the report! Yes, we’re aware of this issue and it has already been fixed. We’re currently preparing the v0.2.5 update for submission to Epic.
